Virginia Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 smoked ham hocks
    2 c. dry navy beans, soaked overnight
    1 qt. diced potatoes
    2 c. tomatoes
    2 onions, chopped
    2 c. corn
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    2 Tbsp. butter
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Boil the first 5 ingredients in 3 quarts of water for 1 hour. Add corn, sugar, butter and salt and pepper to taste.
    Boil 20 minutes and then add 1 cup milk before serving.
