Oatsies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. oats
    1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
    1/2 c. butter or margarine, melted
    1/4 c. dark corn syrup
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 pkg. (6 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate pieces, melted
    1/4 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Heat oven to 400\u00b0.
    Grease baking pan (9 x 9 x 2-inch).
    In medium bowl, mix oats and brown sugar.
    Stir together butter, syrup, salt and vanilla.
    Mix thoroughly into oats mixture.
    Press dough evenly in bottom of pan.
    Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until top bubbles.
    Cool, spread chocolate on top.
    Sprinkle nuts on chocolate.
    Chill for 1 hour.
    Cut into about 2 x 1-inch bars.
