Manhattan Clam Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 lb. salt pork or bacon, diced and fried
    1 large onion, chopped
    2 carrots, thinly sliced
    3 stalks celery, sliced
    1 Tbsp. parsley flakes
    1 (28 oz.) can tomatoes
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    2 or 3 cans clams with liquid
    2 whole peppercorns
    1 bay leaf
    1 1/2 tsp. dried thyme leaves, crushed
    3 medium potatoes, pared and diced
Preparation
    Put all ingredients in cooker.
    Cover and cook on low for 8 to 10 hours.
