Race Day Biscuits - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/3 C shortening
    2 C all-purpose flour
    2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    2/3-3/4 C milk
Preparation
    Heat oven to 450 degrees.
    Thoroughly cut shortening into flour, baking powder and salt.
    Stir in just enough milk until dough leaves side of bowl and forms a ball.
    Turn dough onto lightly floured surface.
    Knead 10 times.
    Roll or pat dough into 1/2 inch thick.
    Cut with floured 2 1/2 inch cutter.
    Place about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
    Bake 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
    Yield about 8 biscuits.
