California Potatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    32 oz. pkg. cubed, frozen hash browns
    1/2 c. chopped onions
    1 c. sour cream or plain yogurt
    2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
    1 can cream of chicken or mushroom soup
    1 stick butter or less
    salt and pepper
    chunks of ham (optional)
Preparation
    Mix and break potatoes into a large bowl and pour into a 9 x 13-inch casserole dish.
