Spice Bars - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. shortening
1/4 c. dark syrup
1/2 c. honey
2 eggs
1 1/4 Tbsp. ???
2 tsp. ginger
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
5 c. all-purpose flour
3/4 c. raisins
Preparation

Sift dry ingredients all together and set aside.
Cream sugar and shortening; add eggs 1 at a time and beat thoroughly.
Add syrup and honey; mix well.
Add 1/2 of flour and mix until moist enough to add remaining flour and raisins.
Bake at 350\u00b0 until soft brown.
When mixed, make a ball of dough to roll the length of cookie sheet.
Roll to 1 inch roll; put 2 rolls to a cookie sheet.
Flatten each roll before baking.
