Toffee Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter or margarine
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
    1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chip pieces
    1 c. chopped walnuts (optional)
Preparation
    Thoroughly cream together butter, sugar and vanilla.
    Add flour and mix well.
    Stir in chocolate pieces and walnuts.
    Press mixture into ungreased 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1-inch jelly roll pan.
    Bake in moderate oven at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes or until brown.
    While still warm, cut into bars or squares.
    Cool before removing from pan. Yields 3 dozen.
