Chicken And Rice Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. chicken fat or butter
    5 Tbsp. flour
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1 c. chicken broth
    1 1/2 c. milk
    1 1/2 c. cooked wild or white rice (equals 1/2 c. uncooked)
    2 c. cut up chicken
    3/4 c. sliced mushrooms
    1/3 c. chopped green pepper
    2 Tbsp. chopped pimento
    1/4 c. slivered almonds
Preparation
    Heat oven to 350\u00b0. Melt fat in saucepan over low heat. Blend flour, salt and pepper. Cook over low heat until smooth and bubbly. Remove from heat. Stir in chicken broth and milk. Replace on heat and bring to boil. Boil 1 minute, stirring constantly. Mix sauce with remaining ingredients. Pour into greased oblong baking dish. Bake 40 to 45 minutes. Serves 8.
