Ruby Fulp'S Icebox Rolls - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. buttermilk
1/4 c. sugar
2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. shortening, melted
1/2 tsp. soda
1 yeast cake
4 1/2 c. plain flour
Preparation

Scald buttermilk.
Add sugar, salt, soda and melted shortening.
Cool to lukewarm and stir in yeast.
Add flour and knead to soft dough.
If you use it at once, let rise to double in bulk.
Can be used as rolls or as loaf.
Cook rolls in moderate oven.
If the dough is not used at once, place in icebox and use later.
