Pickled Peaches - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    20 to 24 small peaches
    4 c. sugar
    2 c. vinegar
    4 sticks cinnamon, broken in pieces
    1 Tbsp. cloves
Preparation
    Choose ripe, but firm, cling peaches.
    Peel.
    Make a syrup of sugar, vinegar and spices.
    Boil 5 minutes.
    Drop peaches into syrup and simmer for about 15 minutes or until tender.
    Pack into clean, hot jars.
    Pour syrup over peaches and seal.
    Yields 4 pints.
