Chocolate Chip-Oatmeal Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. margarine or butter
    1 egg
    1 c. all-purpose flour
    1/2 c. granulated sugar
    1/2 c. packed brown sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 c. quick cooking rolled oats
    1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate pieces (1 c.)
Preparation
    Remove the margarine or butter from the refrigerator at least 30 minutes before making the cookies.
    Turn oven to 375\u00b0.
    Put margarine or butter in a large bowl.
    Beat butter with an electric mixer for 30 seconds.
    Add egg, flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vanilla and baking soda to the margarine.
    Beat on medium speed about 2 minutes or until well mixed.
    Stop occasionally to scrape sides of bowl.
    Use a wooden spoon to stir in oats and chocolate pieces.
    Scoop enough dough on a small spoon so the dough is slightly rounded.
    Leave about 2 inches between cookies. Put the cookie sheet in the oven.
    Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until brown.
    Makes 40 cookies.
