Broccoli Cheese Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen chopped broccoli
    3 1/2 c. chicken broth, divided
    10 mushrooms, sliced
    1/3 c. chopped green onion
    1 Tbsp. parsley
    3 Tbsp. butter
    2 tsp. garlic powder
    6 oz. grated mild Cheddar cheese
    1 c. sour cream
Preparation
    Prepare broccoli according to package and drain.
    Place broccoli in blender with 1 1/2 cups broth; blend until smooth. Mix pureed broccoli with 2 cups broth in medium saucepan.
    Simmer over medium heat.
