Apple Butter - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    12 c. apple
    3 qt. cider
    6 c. sugar
    1 tsp. cloves
    1 tsp. allspice
    1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation
    Wash apples.
    Slice with skin and seeds.
    Add cider and cook until apples are very soft.
    Put apples through sieve; add sugar and spices; let simmer until quite thick.
    Stir frequently to prevent sticking.
    Fill in sterilized jars and seal.
