Indian Kheema - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground beef
    1 medium onion, chopped
    1 c. water
    2 tsp. curry
    3/4 tsp. ground turmeric
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. garlic powder
    1/2 tsp. red pepper
    1/4 tsp. ground ginger
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 large potato, peeled and cubed
    1 medium tomato, peeled and chopped
    1 (17 oz.) can English peas, drained
    1 c. water
    hot, cooked rice
Preparation
    Cook ground beef and onion; drain.
    Combine next 8 ingredients and add to ground beef mixture; stir well.
    Stir in potato, tomato, peas and remaining water.
    Bring to a boil.
    Reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 25 minutes.
    Serve over hot rice.
    Serves 4 to 6.
