My Mother'S Baked Beans - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. navy beans
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. white sugar
3 strips bacon, cut up
Preparation

Soak beans overnight; drain and wash again.
Cover with water; add soda and bring to a foaming boil.
I put them in a drainer and wash under faucet.
Return to saucepan.
Cover with water and add salt.
Boil until skins just start to pop.
Add more water, sugar and bacon.
Bake until done, about an hour.
