Americana Chuck Pot Roast - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    2 Tbsp. oil
    1 c. water
    1 bay leaf
    8 small onions
    1 small carrot
    2 cans tomato sauce
    4 to 5 lb. roast beef
Preparation
    Sprinkle
    meat\twith
    salt.
    Brown meat in hot oil.
    In pot, add
    1/2 cup water and bay leaf; simmer for 1 1/2 hours, or
    until meat is tender.
    Drain fat.
    Add vegetables and rest of water to roast.
    Pour on tomato sauce; cook 1 more hour.
