Beef Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 or 4 lb. beef stew meat
    1/2 c. onion
    4 carrots, sliced
    4 potatoes, cubed
    2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/4 c. flour
    3 Tbsp. oil
    1 Tbsp. salt
    3 c. water
Preparation
    Brown flour in oil, stirring to make smooth paste.
    Add meat, salt, pepper, water and tomato sauce.
    Mix well.
    Cover and simmer 1 1/2 hours.
    Add vegetables.
    Simmer 30 minutes or longer if needed until vegetables are no longer hard.
