Easy Beef Stroganoff - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. round steak
    2/3 c. water
    1 (4 oz.) can sliced mushrooms with juice
    3 tsp. butter
    1 envelope onion soup mix
    1 c. sour cream
    1/2 c. tomato sauce
Preparation
    Cut steak in very thin strips.
    Brown quickly in butter in hot skillet.
    Stir in water, soup mix and mushrooms.
    Cover.
    Simmer, stirring only once or twice, for 1 hour, until tender.
    Remove from heat.
    Stir in sour cream and tomato sauce.
    Serve with hot rice.
