My Grandmother'S One Egg Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2/3 c. sugar
    1/4 c. shortening
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 egg
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1/2 c. milk
    2 tsp. baking powder
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Add unbeaten egg.
    Add flavoring.
    Beat thoroughly.
    Sift measured flour; sift with salt and baking powder.
    Add alternately with milk to creamed shortening.
    Pour into greased loaf pan.
    Bake for 35 minutes at 375\u00b0.
    Great for shortcake.
