By-Cracky Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. shortening
    1 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
    1/4 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    1 (1 oz.) sq. unsweetened chocolate, melted
    8 to 9 double graham crackers
    1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate morsels
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. salt
    1/3 c. milk
    3/4 c. chopped walnuts
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Add eggs, beating well.
    Combine flour, salt and soda; add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, mixing well after each addition.
    Stir in the vanilla. Place 1/3 of batter in another bowl and add unsweetened chocolate and walnuts to this mixture.
    Spread chocolate and mixture in a greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
    Arrange 8 to 9 double graham crackers over batter.
    Add chocolate morsels to remaining 2/3 batter and drop by spoonfuls over graham crackers.
    Spread batter to cover.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
    Cool and cut into bars. Yields 3 dozen.
