My Favorite Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground round
    1 tsp. salt
    dash of pepper
    3 ribs celery, diced
    2 carrots, diced
    1/2 c. barley
    7 c. water
    1 can unsalted V-8 juice
Preparation
    Brown meat until pink is gone.
    Add water; bring to a boil. Add rest of ingredients; cook 1 hour.
