Apple Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. chopped apples, skinned, if desired
    1/2 c. shortening
    2 eggs
    2 c. sugar
    2 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking soda
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    1 Tbsp. water
    1 to 1 1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Add eggs.
    Sift flour, soda and spices.
    Add to creamed mixture.
    Add water, apples and nuts. Spread in large pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes.
    This keeps well wrapped in foil in the refrigerator for a month or more - two weeks in the cupboard.
    Serve with hard sauce, lemon sauce or just powdered sugar.
