Oatmeal Cookies - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 3/4 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
3 c. quick cooking rolled oats
1/2 c. raisins
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
Preparation

Cream together shortening, brown sugar and eggs until light and fluffy.
Stir in buttermilk.
Sift together flour, soda, baking powder, salt and spices; stir into creamed mixture.
Stir in oats, raisins and nuts.
Drop onto greased cookie sheets 2 inches apart.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes until lightly browned.
Cool slightly before removing from pan.
Makes about 5 dozen.
