Peanut Butter Fudge - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. (4 oz.) sugar
    1/3 tsp. salt
    3/4 c. milk or cream
    2 Tbsp. light corn syrup
    1/2 c. peanut butter
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Oil a jelly roll pan or 8 x 8-inch pan.
    Combine sugar, salt, milk or cream and corn syrup in a heavy 3-quart pot, stirring to mix well.
    Stir over medium until boils, then cover and let boil for 2 to 3 minutes.
    Uncover and wash down the sides of the pot with a pastry brush dipped in cold water.
    Continue to boil over medium heat, without stirring, to the soft ball stage (234\u00b0).
    Put the pot on a cooking surface or rack, without stirring.
    Let the syrup cool to a lukewarm (110\u00b0).
    Mix in the peanut butter and vanilla, stirring until thickened.
    Spread in the oiled pan.
    Cut into squares when formed and store airtight.
