Potato, Ham And Green Bean Soup(My Favorite) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 to 6 large potatoes
    1 stick butter (1/4 lb.)
    2 cans green beans with juice
    5 to 6 c. cut-up ham (1/2-inch chunks)
    1 tsp. salt (optional)
Preparation
    Cut potatoes up into about 1-inch pieces.
    Add water until it covers the potatoes.
    Boil in a large pot about 1/2 hour (until pieces break easily).
    Add butter and ham; cook 15 minutes.
    Add green beans.
    Add a little water if needed to make consistency. Simmer 20 minutes.
    Serve.
