Hearty Lima Bean Soup - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 lb. dry lima beans
5 c. water
1 onion, chopped
1 carrot, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
1 tomato, chopped
4 slices bacon
3 Tbsp. margarine
3 Tbsp. flour
1 can consomme
2 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. vinegar
Preparation
-
Wash and soak beans overnight.
Cook beans in water about one hour.
Cut bacon into small pieces and fry in large skillet until crisp.
Add vegetables to bacon and cook until limp, about five minutes.
Add vegetables to beans.
