Ingredients

1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. soda
4 Tbsp. corn syrup
2 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 c. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. pecans, chopped
Preparation

Mix buttermilk and soda; set aside for 20 minutes.
Mix buttermilk with syrup, sugar and salt; bring to a boil.
Add butter; let boil until it forms a soft ball when dropped into cool water.
Remove from heat; add vanilla.
Cool 30 minutes.
Beat until creamy.
Add pecans and pour into greased pan.
