Golden Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. self-rising cornmeal
    1 small onion, chopped fine
    3/4 c. milk (I use sweet milk)
    1 egg, slightly beaten
    vegetable oil
Preparation
    Combine cornmeal and onion.
    Add milk and egg, stirring well. Carefully drop batter by tablespoons into deep hot oil (375\u00b0). Cook only a few at a time, turning once.
    Fry until hush puppies are golden brown (3 to 5 minutes).
    Drain well on paper towels. Makes about 2 dozen hush puppies.
