Oatmeal Muffins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/3 c. oatmeal
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/3 c. brown sugar
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 egg
    1/2 c. cooking oil
    1/2 c. nuts and dates (optional)
Preparation
    Soak oatmeal in buttermilk for 30 minutes.
    Combine the remaining ingredients together in a bowl.
    Beat egg; add to oatmeal mixture and to dry mixture all at once.
    Stir enough to mix.
    Batter is not supposed to look smooth.
    Grease muffin tins well; fill 2/3 full.
    Bake at 425\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes.
