Eggplant Upside Down Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 tsp. olive oil
    3 Tbsp. bread crumbs
    1 lb. eggplant, cut in 1/4-inch slices
    1/4 c. oil
    1 c. long grain rice
    1/2 lb. sweet Italian sausage (bulk)
    1/4 c. chopped onion
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    1 egg, slightly beaten
    3 Tbsp. tomato paste
    1 tsp. oregano
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1/2 c. shredded Provolone cheese
    1/2 c. shredded Mozzarella cheese
Preparation
    Preheat broiler.
    Grease bottom and sides of 10-inch pie plate with 1 1/2 teaspoon olive oil.
    Dust with bread crumbs.
    Place eggplant on a baking sheet; brush both sides with 1/4 cup oil. Broil about 5 minutes or until lightly browned on both sides. Reduce oven to 350\u00b0.
    Cook rice following package directions. Salt.
    Drain excess liquid.
    Reserve rice.
