Spicy Red Cabbage - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. strong chicken broth
    1 medium onion, finely chopped
    1 clove garlic, finely minced
    1 (2 lb.) head red cabbage, cut into strips (core removed)
    1 tart apple, peeled, cored and diced
    3/4 c. unsweetened apple juice
    2 Tbsp. apple cider vinegar
    2 Tbsp. lemon juice
    1 Tbsp. honey
    1 tsp. grated lemon rind
    1 tsp. caraway seed
    pinch of ground cloves
    pinch of ground allspice
    salt to taste
Preparation
    In a pot, bring the broth to a boil.
    Add the onion and garlic and cook, uncovered, over medium heat until soft, about 10 minutes. Add the remaining ingredients.
    Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer slowly for 40 minutes.
    Serve hot.
    Serves 8.
