Ingredients

1 c. cooked raisins
3/4 c. juice from cooking raisins
1 tsp. soda
3 eggs
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
3 c. flour, unsifted
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. each cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg
nuts (optional)
Preparation

Simmer
raisins
in 1 1/4 cups water until soft.
Cream sugar and shortening.
Add eggs, then dry ingredients and mix well.
Add juice
from
cooked raisins.
Last, gently stir in raisins.
Bake for
8
to 10 minutes at 350\u00b0.
This is a very soft cookie.
