Meat Sauce For Rice Balls - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. ground beef
1 small onion, finely chopped
3 garlic cloves, minced
2 (15 oz.) cans tomato sauce
1 (14 oz.) can water packed artichoke hearts, drained and chopped
1 c. frozen peas
1 (4 1/2 oz.) jar mushrooms, drained and sliced
3 bay leaves
1 Tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. dried oregano
2 tsp. dried basil
1/4 tsp. pepper
Preparation

In a large saucepan, cook beef, onion and garlic over medium heat, until meat is no longer pink; drain. Stir in the remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Discard bay leaves from meat sauce. May be served with Cheese Stuffed Rice Balls. Yield: 6 to 8 servings.
