Swedish Pot Roast - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 lb. beef roast
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ginger
2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
2 Tbsp. shortening
2 onions, sliced
1 clove garlic, diced
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. red wine
1/2 c. water
4 bay leaves
Preparation

Combine spices and rub into meat.
Brown meat on all sides in shortening. Put meat in roasting pan and cover with onions and garlic.
Mix brown sugar, wine and water together and pour over meat.
Add bay leaves and bake, covered, at 350\u00b0
for 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
