Lola'S Vegetable Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. frozen mixed vegetables
    1 1/2 qt. tomatoes
    8 medium potatoes, sliced
    salt and pepper to taste
    1 medium onion
    1 Tbsp. shortening and margarine
    6 to 8 c. water
Preparation
    Rinse frozen vegetables.
    Combine all ingredients in a large cooking pot on medium
    for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
    Then simmer another 45 minutes to an hour.
    Serve with cornbread.
    Makes about 16 to 20 servings.
