Lime Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 lb. cucumbers
    2 gal. cold water
    2 c. lime
    2 qt. vinegar
    8 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. mixed spices
    2 Tbsp. salt
    1 tsp. cloves
    1 tsp. celery seed
Preparation
    Combine
    cucumbers, water and lime.
    Soak for 24 hours; stir occasionally,
    drain and wash well.
    Soak for 3 hours in ice water, stir often.
    Drain.
    Mix together other ingredients with cucumbers and let stand overnight.
    Heat to boiling point and boil for 35 minutes; then can.
