Clear Sauce - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 pt. water
1 1/2 Tbsp. butter
6 Tbsp. sugar
2 Tbsp. cornstarch
1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
Preparation

Bring water to a boil; add butter.
Then stir in sugar and cornstarch, mixed smooth in a little cold water.
Stir the sauce constantly while it cooks until clear.
Then remove from heat and add vanilla flavoring.
Serve hot over puddings, date and nut cake or Poor Man's Cake.
