Baked Apple Pudding With Rum - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    3/4 tsp. nutmeg
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. butter
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg (unbeaten)
    2 or 3 medium apples, washed (unpared)
Preparation
    Heat oven to 400\u00b0.
    Grease an 8 x 8-inch pan.
    Sift first 5 ingredients.
    With mixer at cream, mix butter with sugar and egg until light and fluffy.
    Grate apples, medium fine.
    Measure 2 cups.
    Add to egg mixture.
    At low speed, beat in flour mixture just until mixed.
    Pour into pan.
    Bake 20 to 30 minutes.
    Cool. Store in pan.
    Cut into 8 squares.
