Maple Oatmeal Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/4 cup sugar
2 tsp salt
3 cups boiling water
1 cup hot coffee
1/2 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup lukewarm water
5-1/2 cups flour
2 eggs, unbeaten
1 cup rolled oats
2 pkg dry yeast
1/3 cup shortening
Preparation

Combine sugar, salt, boiling water, coffee, oats, shortening, and syrup. Let cool to lukewarm. Add to the above mixture the yeast dissolved in the 1/4 cup of lukewarm water. Blend in the egg gradually; add flour and mix until smooth. Add enough flour to make a stiff dough. Place in greased bowl, cover with dish towel and let rise until double in size. Knead a little and shape into two loaves. Let rise and bake at 350 for 45 minutes.
