Basil Biscuits(Low Calorie) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. active dry yeast
    2 Tbsp. warm water
    1 c. buttermilk
    2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1/2 c. shortening (canola oil)
    1/4 c. finely chopped fresh basil
    2 Tbsp. finely chopped sun-dried tomatoes
Preparation
    Combine yeast and warm water in 2 cup liquid measuring cup; let stand 5 minutes.
    Stir in buttermilk and set aside.
    Combine flour and next 4 ingredients in a large bowl; cut in shortening with a pastry blender until pea size.
    Add buttermilk mixture, basil and tomatoes, stirring with a fork until dry ingredients are moistened. (Dough will be sticky and lumpy.)
    Turn dough out onto a heavily floured surface and knead lightly 4 or 5 times.
    Roll dough to 1/2-inch thickness; cut with a 2 1/2-inch round cutter.
    Place on lightly greased baking sheet.
    Cover and let rise in a warm place for 30 minutes.
    Bake at 450\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes or until browned.
    Yield:
    1 dozen.
    Great with soups.
