Congealed Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large pkg. Jell-O (any flavor, strawberry or strawberry-banana is great)
    1 small can crushed pineapple
    2 c. buttermilk (no kidding!)
    1 small container Cool Whip
    1/2 to 1 c. chopped pecans (optional)
Preparation
    In small saucepan, stir Jell-O and undrained pineapple together and bring to
    a boil.
    Set aside until room temperature. In very large mixing bowl, fold buttermilk into Cool Whip.
    Stir the Jell-O and pineapple mixture into buttermilk and Cool Whip mixture.
    Stir until well mixed and color is uniform.
    Pour into large oblong Pyrex dish or mold (fits great in the Tupperware ring mold).
    Makes a delicious holiday salad!!
