Cinnamon Twirls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sifted flour
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1 egg
    1/4 c. milk
Preparation
    Sift first 4 ingredients together.
    Rub in shortening.
    Beat egg and add milk.
    Add to mixture only enough to moisten flour. Toss out on floured board and knead gently 1/2 minute.
    Roll into rectangular shape 1/4-inch thick, spreading with softened butter and sugar mixture.
    (Mix 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon to make cinnamon sugar.)
    Roll up like jelly roll and cut into 1/2-inch slices.
    Bake at 425\u00b0 for 12 to 15 minutes.
