Pickles - cooking recipe
Ingredients

7 lb. cucumbers
1 C lime
5 lb. sugar
1 qt. vinegar
1/2 box stick cinnamon
1 tsp whole cloves
1 tsp mace
1 tsp turmeric
Preparation

Mix lime in water (2 quarts). Wash and slice cucumbers. Put sliced cucumbers in lime mixture. Use enough water to cover cucumbers. Soak in lime mixture for 12 hours. After 12 hours wash and drain cucumbers. Mix all the other ingredients. Soak the drained cucumbers in the vinegar mixture for 12 hours. After the 12 hours cook cucumbers in vinegar mixture for 20 minutes from the time it starts to boil.
Pack in hot jars.
