Old Fashioned Navy Bean Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    meaty ham bone
    1 lb. navy beans
    4 to 5 carrots, diced
    salt to taste
    2 c. diced celery
    1 medium diced onion
    cayenne pepper to taste
    3 to 4 qt. water
Preparation
    Clean and wash beans.
    Combine water, beans, ham bone and seasoning.
    Cook on low heat 4 to 5 hours.
    Dice vegetables.
    Add to beans after they have cooked about 4 hours or almost done. Turn heat to high and bring to boil, then turn to low for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
