Watermelon Rind Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    rind from 1 watermelon, cut in 1-inch cubes
    7 c. sugar
    2 c. vinegar
    1 tsp. cloves
    1 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation
    Trim the green and pink from rind of 1 watermelon.
    Cut rind in 1-inch cubes; boil until just tender, not soft.
    Drain.
    Make syrup of the remaining ingredients.
    Bring syrup to boil and pour over rind.
    Let stand overnight.
    Drain, reheat syrup and pour over rind.
