Long Island Clam Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (51 oz.) can Gorton's chef-style chopped ocean clams in juice (available at Price Club)
    2 c. diced raw potatoes
    5 slices bacon, crisp and chopped
    1 c. finely chopped carrots
    2 bay leaves
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. thyme or to taste
    1 c. chopped onion
    1 qt. water
Preparation
    Combine all ingredients and simmer 2 to 3 hours.
