Cola Ribs - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. pepper
    1 tsp. garlic powder
    4 to 5 lb. shortribs
    3 Tbsp. vegetable oil
    1 bottle chili sauce
    1 (12 oz.) can Coke
    2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
    2 Tbsp. hot pepper sauce
    1 Tbsp. sugar
Preparation
    In a small bowl, combine salt, pepper and garlic powder.
    Rub mixture over surface of ribs.
    In a large Dutch oven pot, heat oil over medium heat and brown ribs on all sides.
    In a large bowl, combine remaining ingredients.
    After ribs brown, remove from heat and drain oil from them; pour Coke mixture over ribs and cook over medium heat for 1 1/2 hours or until tender.
    Turn and baste ribs while cooking.
    Serve with pan drippings as sauce.
