May'S Bread Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 loaf French bread
    1 qt. milk
    1/2 c. sugar plus 8 tsp.
    4 whole eggs plus 4 egg whites
    3 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. chopped pecans
    1 c. raisins
    pinch of cream of tartar
Preparation
    Break up bread and soak in milk.
    Add 1/2 cup sugar, 4 whole eggs, 2 teaspoons of vanilla, pecans and raisins.
    Mix well.
    Bake in greased 9 x 12-inch dish for 30 minutes at 350\u00b0.
