Date Fridge Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/4 lb. butter
1/2 c. chopped dates
1 egg yolk
1/2 lb. broken cookies (Pepperidge Farm vanilla goldfish)
pinch of salt
Preparation

Melt butter in saucepan.
Add dates, sugar, salt and beaten egg yolk; simmer for 8 minutes.
Add broken-up cookies and stir well.
Roll flat in greased tin with roll pin.
Put in fridge for 1/2 hour.
Cut into bars and roll in castor sugar.
