Cherry Nut Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2/3 c. sugar
    3 Tbsp. shortening
    2 eggs, well beaten
    1/8 tsp. salt
    4 oz. jar maraschino cherries, cut in half (save juice)
    1 2/3 c. flour
    1 2/3 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 c. nuts
Preparation
    Cream sugar and shortening; add eggs, cherries and juice.
    Mix salt and baking powder with flour; add to mixture.
    Add nuts.
    Put in well-greased loaf tin and bake at 350\u00b0 for 50 minutes.
